I Love Dorothy Parker
Best...book review...ever:
Dorothy Parker reviews Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged: “This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force.”

Well said. I once went to a hairdresser who told me she had just finished this book because another client of hers had insisted that she read it. It had informed the client's values so profoundly that he was evangelizing about it. She asked me what I thought about the book, and despite not wanting to offend, I had to answer: "I think it [is awful]." I hadn't read it since high school, but even then it was all I could do to get through the final fifth of the book, having realized that Ayn Rand's characters are class-A megalomaniacs and the worldview she promotes can only be described as psychopathic.
BTW, the hairdresser's client was one of Richie's bosses at the time. Praise God that Richie no longer works there.
